The route - straight outta Copenhagen

The trip starts from Copenhagen and ends in Budapest – in between, we will try to find the shortest and safest way. From Copenhagen, we turn south, hoping to reach the Gedser-Rostock ferry by the end of our first day. From Rostock, the next destination is Berlin, or at least somewhere nearby. Then we continue towards the Czech republic, probably crossing the border between Zittau and Liberec. We will ride through Hradec Kralove and Brno, crossing the Slovakian border at Breclav, then continuing through Trnava and Nové Zámky, entering Hungary at Esztergom, not very far from Budapest. We will carry a tent, sleeping bags, a petrol cooker, travelling in an independent way. According to the plan, if we can sustain a long-term average speed of 15 km/h and 13 hours of cycling a day, we can make close to 200 km. This should allow us to complete 1300 km in seven days.
