We'll go further
Unfortunately, our day on Thursday ended with a swollen knee on a hill above a huge abandoned mine, where an excellent shelter with wide benches offered shelter from the wind. Andris would have been happy to go, but I had to get my joints to heal. So we retired early, disturbed only by a huge, so-called KNK (ask Andris privately about its meaning!), a large, white, long-haired dog, we shouted at him that we did not wish to become his dinner, but fortunately his owner arrived soon after and put him in his place. Obviously the owner was not upset, apologised, asked two questions, and then they left and we went back to sleep. It was getting light when we quickly grabbed a bite to eat, packed up (which was quicker than before due to the lack of tent packing). We refuelled at the Schwarzkollm petrol station and now we continued on our way – it’s still around 100 km to the Czech border. For now, we will not make any more precise estimates or guesses about our arrival home, we will discuss the options during the day.
