Ride with us!

We are still far away from the last day of our trip, but we have an invitation for you: ride with us! We designed the last leg of the journey from Esztergom to Budapest to run along forestry roads that are closed from car traffic, so even less expericed cyclists can ride with us safely. (But keep in mind that there will be some elevation!) During the other days, we will try to go as fast as we can, but if all goes well we expect that we will not be pressed for time and can take it easier on this final stretch. Esztergom can be easily reached from Budapest by train, you can join us as we cross the Mária Valéria Bridge, then we plan to go along the Danube towards Pilismarót, then turning south through the hills. We pass below Dobogókő, roll by the Királykút hut (location of Szoki’s very memorable stag party :~), and enjoy the long ride downhill to Szentendre. Here we find the bike path along the Danube again, all the way to the Újpest railway bridge. So this particular section seems like a very enjoyable outing, and we hope as many people as possible can join us or ride along! The catch is that we don’t know the exact time. It could be anything from the afternoon of Saturday 24 February to the late night of Sunday 25, depending on how we progress on the days before. But you will be able to check where we are from the live tracking, and of course we will also provide updates to the expected time here on the blog. Let’s share the last leg of the journey!
